Drogba to miss World Cup

5th June 2010

In yet another World Cup build up controversy, Chelsea FC Premiership Title winner Didier Drogba has been ruled out of the Cup with a broken arm.  The Ivorian Drogba, had been in career best form leading into the Ivory Coast's final warm up match versus Japan.  However in the 19th minute he collided heavily with the defender Tulio in the exhibition match in Switzerland and was immediately ruled out of the World Cup.

Drogba now joins fellow Chelsea FC Premiership Title winners Michael Ballack, Germany, and Michael Essien, Ghana, on the sidelines.

Despite the losses of these players, Chelsea FC are still represented in the World Cup by 14 players from 7 nations.
