Tom Smith's Testimonial Year 2009

16th December 2009

CaptureSport UK & CPN partner Company Zinc were delighted to be involved with Tom Smith's testimonial in 2009.

Although Tom is a quiet man of world rugby, he played at Northampton Saints for many seasons. Last year Tom was the Saints most capped player where he proudly wore the Black, Green and Gold over 170 times.

Tom is an established international player with Scotland and the Lions, with six back-to-back Lions tests on the 1997 and 2001 tours. He retired from international rugby in 2005 as Scotland's most capped prop, with 61 caps over a career spanning eight years and including two World Cups.

Tom's testimonial year consisted of 5 events including a Scottish Burns Supper at Franklins Gardens where CaptureSport & Zinc enjoyed their staff's Christmas Party and a very successful Northampton Saints Legends v Lions & World XV match. Tom was joined at The Gardens by legends Keith Wood, Austin Healy, Gregor Townsend, Carlos Spencer, Peter Jorgensen, Phil Greening, Scott Quinnell, Neil Jenkins, Budge Pountney, Sharkey Robinson, Harvey Thorneycroft, Paul Grayson, Nick Beal, Allan Bateman, Matt Allen, Ali Hepher, Dom Malone, Craig Moir, Jon Sleightholme, Steve Brotherstone & many more...

Director of Media, Joe Zielinski said "Our work with Tom involved the complete branding & marketing for Tom's testimonial year - this was everything from a website to table decorations. It is great to work with Tom, he is a very popular player & we're really pleased we could help him out throughout his testimonial year."

Tom Smith wrote us a letter for our support on his testimonial year:

"I just wanted to write to you to say thank you for everything you have done for me during my testimonial season. You have had to get used to me dropping in at a moments notice and asking you to drop everything to help me out - which you have always done!

I am extremely grateful for and humbled by your support - it has made a huge difference to the entire testimonial and how it has been presented. "  Tom Smith
